Privacy Policy

RegEd is fully committed to maintaining the privacy of your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how personally identifiable information (“PII”) you provide or we receive about you is treated when you use any of our products or services, including any of our Trax and Xchange applications (collectively, the “Applications”).

Collection and Use of Personally Identifiable Information

How do we obtain your PII?

When you use an Application, or you access a RegEd website either directly or through a link provided to you from another website, depending upon the transaction in which you engage, you may be requested to provide us with PII, such as your name, social security number, license number, mailing address, email address and, in some cases, your credit card information, employment information and other information about your background or history. If you are an employee of, a registered representative associated with or an independent agent under contract or seeking contract with a company that uses one or more of our Products, Services or RegEd Applications (our “Clients”), our Client may provide us with your PII, or we may obtain your PII from a Regulator whom you or a Client has asked to provide us with your PII. You may also send us PII in an email, by mail or facsimile transmission, or provide it during a telephone conversation.

How do we use and/or share your PII with third parties?

RegEd uses your PII as described in this Privacy Policy. Other than as set forth in this Privacy Policy, RegEd will not share PII with any third parties without your permission. Your PII may be used and shared in the following ways:

  • For the specific purpose for which your PII is provided to us by you or by our Client, such as to ship materials to you, to submit forms about you to insurance carriers to enable you to do business for them, to obtain background investigation results for purposes of obtaining licensing or appointments for you, or to obtain information from or make certification or other filings on your behalf with state insurance regulatory agencies or their designees, the National Insurance Producer Registry Gateway, FINRA, and similar entities (collectively, “Regulators”). In addition, we provide your PII to Regulators as necessary to test or monitor our transactions with them. Your PII may also be accessed by any person or company authorized by the foregoing entities to access your PII.
  • If you are an employee of, a registered person associated with or an independent agent of one or more of our Clients, if you have attended a continuing education presentation provided by one of our Clients or you have redeemed a coupon or voucher for a Product or access to a RegEd Application you received from one of our Clients, to allow such Client(s) to view and administer your PII, the status of its requests of us or the status or your use of our Products, Services or Applications. Your PII may also be accessed by any person or company authorized by such Client(s) to access your PII.
  • To provide you with information via email, mail or telephone regarding your transactions with us, your usage of our Applications, Products and Services or transactions with the third parties noted above on your behalf, or to contact you with information that may be of use or interest to you.
  • To provide or enhance RegEd’s Applications, Products and Services or to develop new ones. We may use our affiliates or other unaffiliated companies to perform services on our behalf, such as printing and shipping, managed hosting services, development of software, processing services and other services to facilitate our business and the provision of services to you. These other companies may be supplied with or have access to your PII solely for the purpose of providing these services to us or on our behalf, and directly or indirectly, to you.
  • RegEd may also disclose PII to other third parties if we, in our sole discretion, believe it is required by law, to comply with legal process served on RegEd, by Regulators, to enforce our agreements with our Clients, to enforce this Privacy Policy, or in connection with a sale or transfer of some or all of RegEd’s assets or other transaction with similar effect.

Security of your PII

RegEd employs a variety of security technologies, policies and procedures that are reasonably designed to protect your PII from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. RegEd has implemented commercially reasonable security technologies on the network, server, and application level. RegEd utilizes secure ("SSL") connections and commercially reasonable encryption policies designed to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your PII during transmission. We cannot, however, control the manner in which your PII is transmitted to us, either by you, a third party acting on your behalf or by one of our Clients, or the manner in which a Regulator may require disclosure of your PII to them.

Reviewing and Updating Your PII

If you are an employee, registered representative associated with or an independent agent of one of our Clients, please contact the Client’s compliance, licensing or registration department for the purpose of accessing and correcting data about you. If you have used our Applications by logging in directly, you may access and correct your data by logging into the Application and following directions for updating and/or correcting your information or by contacting us via email at info@RegEd.com. Any revisions you provide to your personal data will be applied in our own records but may not be updated in the records of the third parties to which we have provided your data at your request, and, if you are employed by, associated with or an independent contractor of one of a Client, may be overwritten by data provided by such Client to us. If you would like to review and correct the personal data that has been provided to these other entities, you will need to contact them directly.

Your Agreement to this Policy and to any Updates or Changes Made

When you access and use any RegEd Application via the internet, or you otherwise submit your PII to RegEd, you accept the terms described in this Privacy Policy. We may modify or amend this policy from time to time, and we agree to notify you of any significant change by posting a notice on www.RegEd.com and noting the date of the change. If you continue to access and/or use any of RegEd’s Applications or other products and services after such modification is effective, you are deemed to have agreed to the new terms.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy pertains only to provision of your PII directly to RegEd, and does not apply to the policies maintained by third parties to whom your information may be transmitted as described herein. If you have a question about a third party’s privacy policies, please contact that third party directly. The RegEd websites may also contain links to other web sites, including the websites of RegEd affiliates. This Privacy Policy covers only the RegEd websites and not any of these other sites. You may access the privacy policies that govern your use of these hyperlinked websites when you link to the other website.
